Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do your products come with Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)?

Yes — all WI Polymers products are supplied with GHS-compliant TDS and SDS documentation. These are available to download directly from each product page, or you can contact our technical team for a full documentation pack.

2. What is the shelf life of your sealants and adhesives?

Shelf life varies by product type — typically 12 months for silicone sealants, 9–12 months for MS polymers, and 6–12 months for PU foams when stored correctly. Always check the TDS for the specific product. Storage should be in a cool, dry place between 5°C and 25°C, away from direct sunlight.

3. Do you ship hazardous goods across Ireland?

Yes — we deliver across all 32 counties, including Northern Ireland. Hazardous goods (classified under ADR regulations) are shipped in full compliance with Irish and UK transport legislation. Some products may require specific packaging or quantity restrictions per consignment — contact us for details.

4. Are there any products you cannot ship by courier?

Certain flammable or pressurised products (such as aerosols and some solvent-based cleaners) may be restricted to road freight only and cannot be shipped via standard courier services. We'll advise at point of order if any restrictions apply to your selection.

5. How do I request a technical sample before purchasing?

You can request a technical sample by contacting our team directly via the contact form or by emailing us with your company name, application details, and the substrate you're bonding or sealing. Samples are assessed on a case-by-case basis for professional and trade customers.

6. Can you provide product recommendations for my specific application?

Absolutely — our technical team can advise on the right adhesive or sealant for your substrate, environment, and performance requirements. Reach out with your application details and we'll recommend the most suitable product, backed by our in-house laboratory testing.

7. What certifications do your products carry?

Our product range includes products certified to EN, BS, ASTM, and NBS standards depending on application. Fire-rated products are tested to BS476 and EN1366. Full certification details are listed on individual product pages and TDS documents.

8. Do you offer bulk or trade pricing?

Yes — we offer trade accounts and volume pricing for contractors, distributors, and industrial buyers. Contact us to discuss your requirements and set up a trade account.

9. How should I store sealants and adhesives to maximise shelf life?

Store all products upright in a cool, dry environment between 5°C and 25°C, away from direct sunlight and frost. Once opened, cartridges should be resealed with a cap and used within the timeframe specified on the TDS. PU foams should be stored valve-down after first use.

10. What should I do if a product doesn't perform as expected?

Contact our technical team with the batch number, application details, substrate type, and conditions at time of application. Our in-house laboratory can investigate and provide a technical assessment. We take product performance seriously and will work with you to resolve any issues.
